I asked Thar Gyi to give me a full day tour of Mandalay in November 2012 & was extremely impresed by his knowledge of all the sites I'd read up on in "Lonely Planet" AND, more importantly, his suggestions for additional things to see. Thar Gyi was our private driver and tour guide for 9 days on our recent trip to Myanmar, and I'm not sure what we would have done without him. From our first e-mails, he helped plan the trip and made everything easy. We explored Mandalay, Amarapura, Sagaing, Ava, Mt. Popa, Bagan, Inle Lake, and the Pindaya Cave. When we arrived, Thar Gyi was waiting at the airport for us with a sign and it was easy to meet him. The rest of the trip was relaxing, exciting and fun. While some of the travel days driving from place to place were long, seeing the country was incredible. When we decided we wanted to buy shoes and school supplies for a local school and orphanage in Inle Lake, Thar Gyi helped us make our ideas a reality. I am incredibly grateful to Thar Gyi for all of his help and for giving us a trip of a lifetime. Myanmar was unlike any place I've been to and we all fell in love with the country. Thank you Thar Gyi for everything, we hope to see you again for another trip in the future!

Ko Thar Gyi and his tour of Mandalay and the surrounding areas was exceptional! Having lived in Myanmar for three years now, I was excited to show my family my home for the first time. Ko Thar Gyi's trip not only showed my family the best, but I also saw many new things! Morning walks and a boat ride along the U Bein, exploring palaces and watching the sunset on Mandalay Hill was unforgettable. Learning about different hadicrafts such a weaving, wood carving, and gold leaf was exciting for us and very educational. Thank you so much Ko Thar Gyi for your excellent trip that you made so special for me and my family- the next time I come to Mandalay I would only consider you as our tour guide!
